Lots happening at the moment. Here is the main news from our competitions. Removing the heats from the Scottish Open championship means that we now have much sought after weekend boats available on 15th May, 29th May and 12th June. Please book online or telephone the fishery. A number of people have had problems accessing the website recently. Deleting chrome history/cookies seems to sort the problem.
SCIERRA PAIRS 23RD APRIL. We had blanked out a lot of boats on the Friday before this event to stop them getting booked up by clubs etc. We have now made them available again for Scierra competitors wishing to practice. There are 21 boats available on Friday 22nd April if you want to practice. Please book practice boats on line or by telephone.
MENTEITH FARIO BOAT LEAGUE PROPOSAL. Boat League Commences 11th May. We have had a proposal and two seconders from current members to change the rules of the Boat League to be the same as for the Scottish Clubs. The main difference would be the introduction of a maximum fly size of 1 1/8th inch, max hook size of 3/4 inch and no artificially weighted flies. In addition standing would only be permitted to play a fish. Full rules on the SANACC website. We will be contacting all those that fished the boat league in the 2020 and 2021 season to vote on this proposal.
SCOTTISH OPEN FLY FISHING CHAMPIONSHIP. This event has been relauched as a one day event to take place on Saturday 3rd September. Entry will be £60 per person (£32 boat fees and the remainder for prizes and after match food). First prize £600, 2nd Prize £300 and 3rd Prize £200. There are 60 places available contact Ben Robertson on facebook or on 07462 148303 to book your place. The Competition is fished to National Rules (see SANACC web page) and is a catch and release competition.
