The finest fishing has returned today with a lovely mild overcast day and gentle breeze setting the stage for great buzzer and dry fly fishing in the Eastern Basin. Ronnie Glass told me that the buzzers weren’t working for their boat and they 18 on dries with by far the greatest congregation of fish in International Bay. Other anglers did well on fabs and boobies. One other regular stated that it was the best rise he had ever seen. I have not been asking too many questions of the masters this week as we have the Scottish Polis National Championship on Thursday immediately followed by a Scottish National Fly fishing Championship Heat on the Friday (we will try and keep them further apart next year).
A good excuse to show this picture of Stewart Inglis (again) is to announce that he has agreed to be Captain of the 16 strong Scotland team which has annual matches with the English Fly Fishing Association Select Team alternating between the Lake and Rutland Water in July . He is now the man to speak to with organisational queries I will circulate his details to the team…..
The flow of Ladies to the Lake in readiness for the international next week has started. Great to see an international here again and look forward to seeing new and old faces again – after the covid interuption.
