ANGLING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE The Fishery is for obvious reasons (business and community) keen to encourage young people to get out and enjoy the outside environment - and to put something on the table. We have generous discounts for young people (they are free with an adult) and when two people between the ages of 16 and 18 go fishing it is the same price as a single adult. We also endeavour to ensure that young people get fair access to weekend boats. In additon we have the young persons club night, the Cormorants, administered by Alisdair Mair and assistants on Tuesday nights during the summer (Wednesdays for fly tying in the winter). All coaches and helpers are suitably qualified and have had the relevent checks and the cost is minimal. The Youth National takes place on the Lake during the last weekend in October. The Lake is host to the Youth International in July this year. This year there are 5 Menteith Cormorants in the National Team. During the winter there are regular fly tying lessons evenings on the Lake premises. The club is aimed at people between the ages of 9 and 16. Acceptance for the course will be on a first come first served basis. If you are interested please contact the Coach (details below).
Next time you are in the area drop in to the Port of Menteith and have a look around the fishery. |
