| WEEKLY SUMMARY
5TH TO 11TH JULY |
|
| |
| The temperature
has risen to 19C at 6ft, over the last week. As a results
there are well defined hotspots over the deeper areas
(south-east and north of Inchmahome, however, fish still
continue to be caught in all areas. On the natural feeding
front fish are most commonly seen to have been feeding
on buzzers. Large hatches of sedge, midge and mayflies
are still occurring. The dry fly (eg humpy, balloon caddis,
Walton Sedge) has been the top technique this week. A
close second has been the highly visible white cat and
the ever evolving blob fished near the top, on an intermediate
line. The dry fly is accounting for many beautiful on-grown
shovel tailed rainbows in the 2-4lb weight range. The
winner of the Scottish Interclub fished dries and had
a bag of 8 fish for 21.12oz, 3 of which were over-wintered
types. |
