| The settled
weather has continued with light and variable winds and the
water warmed significantly to 10.5C at 6ft. Catches have been
maintained at a high level and the average boat catch for the
week was 5.4 fish for 12.1lbs. Fish have been taken from all
areas, but the shallow drifts (Lochend to Arnmach, Sandy Bay,
Hotel Bay to Reedy Point and Stable Point) have been very
productive. | |
| The fry are again
massing at the fringes and mini-lure patterns have done
particularly well (white cats, humungus, damsel, green and
white spiral, sparklers). The action has been close to the
surface with intermediate and floating lines coming out tops.
Buzzers on a floating line have also produced top bags
especially with a wee breeze.

5th April: 26 boats landed 103 fish
for 247lbs. D. Paterson (Falkirk) had his limit early on with
7 fish for 17lbs. | |
| CIBA AC (Paisley)
caught 28 fish for 64lbs with 7 boats.

| Saturday
6th April: 28 boats landed 182 fish
for 408lbs. Bothwell and Blantyre (6 boats) 64 fish for
140lbs, Basfords (3 boats) 25 fish 56lbs, Clydesdale Bank 33
for 76lbs and IBM (11 boats) 55 fish for 125lbs.

7th April: 29 boats landed 108 fish
248lbs. K.Hunter (Stirling) had 5 fish for 13lbs 8oz. J.Tullet
(Kilmarnock) had 5 for 11lbs with an orange sparkler. Tilly AC
(5 boats) 17 fish for 36lbs. Townhill AC (8 boats) 39 fish for
93lbs. Lochinch AC (10 boats) 32 fish for 69lbs.

| Monday
8th April: 16.5 boats landed 138 fish
for 301lbs. Fowler and Fowler (Bannockburn) 15 fish for 34lbs
(Humungus at the shooting butts), Ronnie Stanovitch (Glasgow)
15 fish for 34lbs 8oz with a white cat, Robert Fullerton
(Kilbirnie) and W.Farquhar 14 fish for 36lbs 3oz using a
floating line with mini lures. CSP AC (6 boats) 54 fish for
114lbs. | |
| Tuesday
9th April: 20 boats landed 122 fish
for 273lbs. H.Mullen of Kirky had 10 fish for 25 lbs, C.Potter
of E.K. 14 fish for 28lbs, Rex Hutchison (Bantom) 5 fish for
12lbs 8oz, J.McGuire and friends (Port) 9 fish for 21lbs.
P.Auchterlonie/G.MacKay (Crieff) 15 for 36lbs, S.Anderson
(Glenrothes) 12 for 30lbs. | |
| Wednesday
10th April: 27 boats landed 112 fish
for 255lbs. D.Paterson (Falkirk) had his limit of 7 fish by
midday. Mainly from Sandy Bay - using a floating line..
G.McClymont landed 5 for 12lbs 8oz. Dixon and Dunbar of Largs
returned 14 fish from the Butts/Lochend area with floating
lines and buzzers. | |

11th April: 22 boats landed 141 fish
for 321lbs. Mr.Wilson 15 for 36lbs, Mr.McCaskie 7 for 16lbs
8oz, Dobie and Kennedy (B.OW.) 8 for 15lbs, C.Will and
R.Christie (Soldier Palmers) 15 fish for 33lbs 8oz, Mr.Young
(Luncarty) 8 for 19lbs. | |
