September Summary, Week Ending 4th Oct Summary and Club Championship Results
September really was a fantastic month, weather and catch wise, - a total of 4019 fish for 9974lbs were landed. The monthly average boat catch was high (4.75 fish for 11lbs 13oz) and the fish were in fine condition. Average weight was 2lbs 8oz, although there was a fair range (1 - 5lbs). Catches numbers per boat were up 25% on last September. The boats were once again more or less fully booked during September.
The month finished with some great catches;

27/9//02. Jim Boyd and Ian Muckle 4 fish for 12lbs! Ciba AC of Paisley (6 boats) 42 fish for 105lbs, Edinburgh Trout Anglers (10 boats) 85 fish for 200lbs, Strachan and Malcolm (Kilmarnock) 15 fish for 39lbs 8oz, Edin Fly Dressers Guild (3 boats) 36 fish for 85lbs.
28/9//02. Gartmore AC had their last outing for the year and landed 25 fish for 60lbs with 5 boats club champion for 2002 was Archie Whitehead. Kelvinside Accies AC (5 boats) 30 fish for 73lbs - club champion for 2002, Tom Taggart.
29/9//02. Stewarton AC (6 boats) 34 fish for 88lbs. S.Johnson (3 boats) 18 fish for 42lbs, MAA (5 boats) 12 fish for 33lbs.
30/9//02. Lothian and Borders Police (8 boats) 19 fish for 50lbs, K.Millar 10 fish 28lbs.
01/10//02. Lothian and Borders Police (8 boats) 21 fish for 50lbs, P.ONeill (Neilston) 9 fish 22lbs. Scottish Fire Services (13 boats) 36 fish for 88lbs Champion for 2002 Jim Twaddle.
02/10//02. Wilson (Troon) 11 fish for 25lbs, T.Ward (Cumnock) 9 fish for 24lbs, A.Melville Rothes Oak 15 fish for 35lbs 9oz.
03/10//02. Lochinch AC (13 boats) 31 fish for 76lbs.

04/10//02. FINALS OF THE SCOTTISH CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS sponsored by the Daily Record and Tennants Lager. A fantastic 229 fish were caught by the 45 competitors for a total weight of 588lbs, giving a rod average of 5 fish for 13lbs.

The winners were Strathleven (see picture below web only). The winning trio were Campbell Morgan, Robert Fullerton (4 fish) and George MacKenzie. Unfortunately George had to work for the final but sub Donald Forbes fished in his place in the final catching a superb 8 fish. Campbell had a limit busting 12 fish 4 from International Bay, 4 from Kate's Brae and 4 from Lochend. He was fishing a DI3 with a Sunburst Viva Booby on the top, a Cats Whisker variant in the middle and an All White Booby on the Tail. Close behind in Second Place were Billy Dewar (10 fish), John Buchanan (8 fish) and Kenny Hunter (4 fish).

THOSE INTENDING TO REGISTER FOR THE GLENKINCHIE MENTEITH BOAT LEAGUE 2003 SHOULD ATTEND THE REGISTRATION MEETING AT THE FISHERY LODGE WHERE THERE WILL ALSO BE A BUFFET AND WHISKY TASTING ON SUNDAY 20TH OCTOBER AT 11.45AM.
