Gateside Bay:Temperature at 6ft - 19C, Water Clarity 2.7m on the secchi disk. The Lake hotspots are currently Todhole area and the Malling shore end. Information is a little hard to come by but with the increasing clarity, buzzer fishing or washing line tactics have been working and catch averages have been good. In the Anglian water heats on Monday Change A, Wellbank, Perthshire RASC, Middleton, Alder AC progressed during the day with Aberdour, Butcher Boys, Heron and Kelso loosing out. In the Evening Saltire, Gargunnock, Menteith Ospreys, Port Glasgow and Alba Orvis went through with Change B, West Lothian, Hawick and Perth AC loosing out.
England the new Fly World Championships.

Iain has two Scottish parents and the manager is from Ayrshire. The world champions France having led for much of the competition came Second while Scotland managed a creditable third place. In Heat 1 at Menteith, 40 trout were netted by the 24 anglers. Howard Croston (Eng) was first followed closely by Davie Chalmers of Scotland. In Heat 2, 88 trout were netted with Yan Caleri of France in top place and Alesandro Sgrani of Italy 2nd. Heat 3, 60 trout were netted, Laurent Gagneux (Fra) was 1st and Sandro Soldarini (ITA) 2nd. Heat 4, 51 trout caught, Dave Parker (Eng) 1st and Oli Tovien (Fin) 2nd. In the last Heat 36 trout were caught. Donald Forbes (Sco) 1st and Fabio Manfrin (ITA) 2nd.
In the 6th Heat of the Scottish Club Championships Sponsored by the Daily Record, Angling Centre Stirling and Famous Grouse Whisky, the 56 anglers landed 98 fish for 188lbs – there was no catch and release. First placed were Sunburst AC with 13 fish. In 2nd place were Crieff with 11 fish and 3rd were Inverclyde 10 fish. There were 8 bag limits (again). The top five bags who are guaranteed Champion of Champion’s Finalists are Nigel Burns, Gordon MacGregor, Steve Bett, Stewart McCabe and Ken Oliver. The winners, top rod and heaviest fish (William MacFarlane) received bottles of Famous Angler (Grouse) Whisky.
On the 5th night of the Angling Centre Stirling Menteith Boat League the 37 anglers landed 109 fish for 215lbs with 7 limit bags. First on the night was new League Leader Robbie Mather, 2nd was Gordon Hayward and 3rd was Brian MacKenzie. Ian Skilling only managed 2 fish and slipped off the top spot into second place.
