The Water temperature has risen to 17C and the clarity at Gateside is 2.4m. Another good week at the Lake with dry fly accounting for much of the catches. All areas of the Lake are fishing with Lochend being perhaps the one exception. The heather fly has been much in evidence over the last few days.
On the 13th night of the Angling Centre Stirling Menteith Boat League the 31 anglers landed 111 fish for 93fish for 254lb with 10 five fish limit bags. First on the night was Brian MacKenzie with 5 fish for 14lbs 13oz, 2nd was Peter Edge with 5 for 13lbs 5oz and 3rd was Ian Skilling with 5 for 12lbs 1oz. The biggest fish on the night was a 3lb 15oz fish caught by Brian Mackenzie but as he also had the biggest bag the prize went to John Kaye who has a fish of 3lbs 11oz. With only one more night to go Ian skilling is in a strong position at the top of the League on 36 points with Andy Mackay dropping to 2nd place on 41 points due to his limit bag of fish only giving him a 15th position in the last heat. Robbie Mather is in 3rd place on 53pts. It will be decided tomorrow night when there will be a BBQ and prize-giving after the final heat.
