Menteith Fishery

Lake of Menteith Report 5th August

The Water temperature has dropped a further half degree to 15.5 C and the clarity at Gateside is 2.05m. The Lake has continued to fish well at the weekend and thereafter – with the usual tactics seeming to  be doing the business (e.g. sink tip and washing line variations). The dry fly has been used to very good effect given suitable conditions.  Most areas of the lake have good populations of fish with anglers reporting some really fine sport. The most productive areas have been Gateside Bay and the Malling shore. The heather flies are out once more.
