6ft Water Temp: 6C, Clarity (secchi disk): 2.5m

Water temperature up 1C, and slightly milder on occasions over the last few days – with significant buzzer hatches.  Fishy areas have been from Reedy Point into hotel bay, round to International Bay and down to Lochend and the Butts. Some action also reported from the Heronry. Various lines are in use, but the fish are not deep. Heavier lines have only been employed in the windier conditions to keep in contact with the flies.  Terminal tackle has included the Red Headed Damsel, Cormorant, Blob, Montana, and Buzzers in the calm spells. Dougie Inglis from Kilmarnock (right) took this 6lb 8oz over-wintered fish from the Butts on a buzzer.

Club Catches this week; Scotsman AC (4 boats) 17 fish 35lbs 5oz, CIBA Paisley (5 boats) 34 fish 76lbs 6oz, Bank of Scotland (5 boats) 29 fish 66lbs 5oz, Dalzell Steel (6 boats) 26 fish 59lbs 10oz.
