6ft Water Temp: 17C, Clarity (secchi disk): 2m . Clarity has remained at 2m and some welcome rain has started to fall. This week we have welcomed the Ladies International Fly fishing Teams to the Lake – with the Final on Thursday. Big hatches of buzzers and caenis this week.

7th Evening Heat; Scottish Club Championships Results – sponsored by the Daily Record with Heat Prizes provided by Grouse Whisky.
24 boats landed 98 fish for 233lbs. Top 3 man team were Bridge of Weir (river) - (F.Gourney, I.Stewart, A.Cameron) with 12 fish for 29lbs13oz, 2nd Sanley and District 11 fish 23lbs and 3rd were Townhill AC with 10 fish for 21lbs 5oz. Seven individuals had bag limits. The top four bag weights qualifying for the Champion of Champions were J.Ferguson, 5 fish; F.Gourney (5) , P.Grubb (5) and E.Scott (5). The biggest fish was a 5lb 8oz bow caught by S.Martin of Inverurie. Top tactics were blob and cormorant. Most other best bags were on dries but Jim had bagged up before the fish came up. The Angling Centre Stirling has a mobile shop before the start of the Scottish club Competition.

In the Menteith Day Finals of the Anglian Water 6 man Finals, 60 anglers landed 187 fish for 456lbs. 1st were Perth RASC with 25 fish, 2nd were Heron FF with 20 fish, 3rd were Change FF (A) with 21 fish. Neilston FF were unlucky not to qualify, they lost out by 2oz. In the evening Final Menteith Ospreys and the Grizzlecats went through.

In the Fifth evening of the Menteith Boat League sponsored by Angling Centre Stirling, Ian Campbell of Paisley won the night with 5 for 13lbs 13oz, 2nd was J.Litster with 5 for 12lbs 8oz and 3rd I.Skilling with 4 for 12lbs 6oz. There were 5 limit bags. I.Campbell and I.Skilling (biggest fish – 6lbs) picked up an Airflow line each courtesy of the Angling Centre Stirling. Top of the league is A.Dunn with 33pts, 2nd is I.Campbell on 36 and 3rd K.Oliver with 45pts.

Quite a few big fish in the catches last week. Davie Paterson (above left) of Stenhousemuir picked up this Gateside Resident of 10lbs 1oz and Tam Ward of Cumnock (above right) captured this 7 pounder.
