6ft Water Temp: 16C, Clarity (secchi disk): 2.7m . A lot of daphnia and pin head course fry - as well as the summer diptera – are much in evidence on the Lake. Small green hoppers (#16) were working well at the Malling reed beds last night with one angler managing 12 fish with many more follows and pulls. When the conditions have suited, with the temperate water temperatures, dries or on the top methods are proving hard to beat. With the last of the Lakes SANA National Championship Heats completed, the Lake has received a big stocking (over 2000 fish since Friday) in recent days. We have quite a few boats spare due to a cancellation on Friday 11th July if anyone is interested.
Left: Stan Paterson of Dumbarton with a 7lb 7oz blue from the
Lake on Friday. Stan was fishing for his club St.Mungo. Stan is rightly famous
for the quality of his home made game pies.
