6ft Water Temp: 16.5C, Clarity (secchi disk): 1.8m .
Hot Spots – North-east corner of the Lake from Kates Brae to Reedy Point
was where the catches were over the weekend. Gateside Bay was producing fish
also. In the dull conditions anglers were reporting success with a floating
line and dries (e.g. klinkhammer) or smallish nymphs and buzzers. Given the
clarity, I’d
have thought if going wet, then something bigger and brighter might be an idea.
The fish appear to be lying close to the reeds.

CHAS and Youth Sponsored Fisher Fundraisers Required: 21st October 2008
The annual charity fundraiser for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland will be held on the 21st of October this autumn. A slight change is that 25% of the funds raised will go towards sponsoring young peoples’ fishing. Kevin McCabe is co-ordinating this event as well as sponsoring the winning prize for the entrants raffle of £300, and there will be other prizes. Anglers must raise over £100 sponsorship to enter the competition. For sponsor forms contact Kevin (07866 743667) or Quint 07710 433464 or email: manager@menteith-fisheries.co.uk .
