WATER AID RAISES £16000 AT LAKE CORPORATE EVENT.
The big news this week was the amount raised by Wateraid
who held their corporate fishing event at the Lake on Friday 22nd June.
The organiser Robin Lambert of Scottish Water landed some big corporate
sponsers for the event - Future Environmental Services, Scottish Water
Contracting, Orange Business Services, MWH Global, Farrer Consulting and
Waven Plastics. The fantastic sum could not have been achieved without
the help also
of the smaller sponsors including those companies who sent teams to the
event and of course the enormous amount of time spent by Robin Lambert
of Scottish Water who organised the event and collected the sponsorship.
The event was won by Change Homes Ltd. Pictured above with Managing Director
Kevin McCabe (on left) are Jock Kettles, James Litster and Derek Marklow.
Change caught 24 fish for 51lbs 7oz, 2nd were Anglian Water with 5 fish
for 13lbs 6oz and 3rd were AESOps Ltd with 5 fish for 8lbs 15oz. Top Individuals
were Jock Kettles with 6 fish for 13lbs 2oz, 2nd was Chris Evans of Anglian
Water and 3rd Kevin McCabe with 6 fish. The 64 competitors caught 53 fish
for 150lbs.
Water temperature has gradually picked up this week to finish
at 16C. Light to strong easterly winds have prevailed. Top spots have
been Lochend, Road Shore/Shear Point, Rookery and Roman Bay. The fish
have been close to the surface and anglers have favoured buzzers and lures.
