June and July Summary
The average catch statistics for June 2007 were: 2 man boat day catch
(8hrs) 4.4 fish for 9.4lbs; 2 man boat eve catch (5hrs) 2.8 fish for 5.9lbs;
average weight was 2lbs 2oz. - fairly similar to last year. In July the
stats were 4.7 fish (11.3lbs) for an 8hr 2 man boat and 2.9 fish (7lbs)
for a 5hr evening 2 man boat. Number of fish released in July shot up
from the usual 10% to 24%, largely due to the reduced limit in the Lexus
Heats and the two days of practice by the international youths. Catches
were the best in July for many a year - most likely due to the cool summer
keeping fish in the catch zone. Stocking in July was down on last year
due to the number being returned and also because catches were good. Average
fish weight for July 2lbs 6oz.
