Another excellent week of fishing with high rod averages recorded and good clarity. Fishing has taken off on the shore road, with the Malling Shore and Gateside Bay areas still doing well.












Litster Wins

James Litster of Kilmaurs was presented with the Menteith Boat League Championship cup after he finished top of the league with 29 points from his 10 best outings. 2nd was David Paterson with 52 points and 3rd Gordon Hayward with 85 points. James finished a long way ahead of his rivals and is pictured above with competition sponsor Martin Grantham of the Angling Centre Stirling. David Paterson pf Stenhousemuir received the Alan Ronald Memorial Trophy for the Biggest Fish (11lbs 7oz). In the final heat of the league the 21 anglers landed 105 fish for 224lbs. Six anglers had limits. Top bag on the day was John Buchanan with 7 fish for 18lbs 8oz. John’s basket included a bow of 6lbs 6oz and his fish were taken with a team of diawl bachs fished near the surface mainly from Roman Bay.

The previous day James was presented with the Scottish Anglers National Association Open Championship Individuals Cup (below right) by SANA President Ronnie Picking . James landed 8 fish for 17lbs 8oz with a white cat booby and Di3 from the cages, stable point and roman bay drifts. 2nd was A.Hill with 8 for 16lbs 14oz and 3rd was M. Cordinar with 8 for 16lbs 8oz – taken on a floating line on the shore road. A.Hill and T.Wilson collected the Open Pairs Trophy (pictured below left). Alan and Tam finished 4lbs ahead of rivals Litster and Crawford. The 42 anglers landed 145 fish for 297lbs.
