Report 19th September

6ft Water Temp: 16.5C Secchi Disk Gateside: 3.2m

The Lake continues to produce some fine baskets and as the temperature drops fish are increasingly turning up in the shallower drifts. Hot spots in the previous seven days have been The Road shore, Lochend, Kates Brae, Gateside Bay and Roman Bay. Sink tip has again been the most popular line either with a washing line set up or lure on the tail and smaller flies further up – such as diawl bachs and cormorants.

Seona Glen (9) of the Port, captured her first trout on the fly (white cat), thanks to some tuition from youth Coach Alisdair Mair.

Tam Ward (below) displays another big fish (7lbs 13oz) from season 2006.

Strathclyde Police (9 boats) 60 fish for 116lbs, Falkirk FFC (4 boats) 24 fish 57lbs, Lothian and Borders Police (14 boats 102 fish for 228lbs (– best bag J.McBride 8 fish for 28lbs 11oz), Grizzlecats (5 boats) 17 fish for 67lbs and 14 returned, Stanley AC 8 boats 44 fish for 90lbs, Tradeshouse 27 fish for 50lbs, Leslie and Glenrothes 32 fish for 61lbs, Heriots 7 boats 13 fish for 42lbs and 51 returned.

Kirk and School Fundraiser
We are now taking bookings for our annual Kirk and School Day with all proceedings donated to these two establishments. The day is Sunday 5th November (12noon start) and the cost for a two man boat is £40 which includes soup, tea/coffee, beverage and a locally procured venison and lamb barbeque.
