Fishery Report Menteith Weekly Report 6th November
|
||
| The last day of the trout season at the Lake was the annual Menteith School and Kirk Day. The fisheries company donates all the 40 plus boat proceeds to the Kirk
and School and a barbeque and giant raffle is held by the PTA to the Port
School, a small rural primary with 25 pupils.
The generosity of the anglers and the fisheries board is greatly appreciated by the community, and it allows both the Kirk and School to make some purchases (heating / interactive white boards) that make a big difference. In appreciation, the school children sang some beautiful songs to those gathered.
Just in case the day wasn’t special enough the Lake provided
a new fishery record, a resident of 17lbs 13oz. – caught on a surface
fished white booby at Gateside. Pictured above are the captor Dave Downie. Pictured middle and below are most of the Port School. In the back row are the Reverend Daniel Gibb with School Teachers David Scott and Margaret Young.
The Lake re-opens for trout fishing on the 24th March 2007.
