Fishery Report

6ft Water Temp: 16.5C Secchi Disk Gateside: 2.4m

New Scottish Ladies Champ Heather Cary from Drumnadrochit holds the National Trophy (right). Heather finished top with 6 fish for 14lbs 7oz and won the title by a clear 1lb 11oz from 2nd placed Marion Wallace. 3rd Placed was Sheila Mannion with 6 for 12lbs 11.5oz and 4th was Morag Wallace with 6 for 12lbs 9oz. Heaviest fish on the day was an 8 pounder landed by Marion Wallace. Heather, an animal artist and cartoonist, was fishing a floating line “with a tendency to sink slightly”, and caught most of her fish on a white cat double from the Road Shore and Gateside Drifts.

Drifts / Techniques: Fish are now present in all the bays and drifts and at all depths – intermediates, sink tips and floaters being the most popular lines and popular flies have been white cat, booby, cormorant, diawl bach, shipmans, kate mclaren….

Northern Constabulary 7 boats 44 fish for 99lbs, Tayside police 6 boats 36 fish for 76lbs, Glasgow and District AC 18 boats 112 fish for 242lbs, ECSAC 4 boats 23 fish for 65lbs, Wiremill 10 boats 50 fish for 106lbs, Heriots FP 8 boats 30 fish for 80lbs and 52 returned, Walton AC 8 boats 40 fish for 81lbs, Fife Police 6 boats 23 fish for 45lbs.
