| Weekly report issued 29th August 2005 Biggest fish so Far A welcome return to windy and wet weather (the rivers were getting a bit low) has caused a big drop in clarity which was down to 1.6m on the secchi disk and a temperature of 17C at 6ft in the cages was recorded on 29/08/05. The fish are now spreading out all over the loch and it has got a lot easier as the week progressed. George Whyte and Glenkinchie Champion Peter Auchterlonie from Crieff caught 45 on Saturday 27th and kept 4. Hot spots have been the Malling Shore, Dog Isle, Rookery, Reedy point, Hotel Bay, Road shore and Lochend Bay. Flies have varied but with clarity not at its best something a bit bigger and brighter might be the order of the day. Club Results: Fire Service (16 boats) 50 fish for 94lbs, ETA (7 boats) 41 fish for 76lbs, Lothian and Borders Police (14 boats) 94 fish for 186lbs, Midlothian AA (5 boats) 18 fish for 33lbs, Good Companions (AC 7 boats) 60 fish, Dollar AC (4 boats) 14 fish for 26lbs, Aberdour AA (7 boats) 46 fish for 86lbs, Ferry Fly Dressers (5 boats) 27 fish for 53lbs, Trossachs AC (3 boats) 25 fish for 49lbs. Prospects: More of the same but increasingly difficult to get a boat in September as the Senior’s International and other competition finals approach. For boat bookings telephone 01877 385664.
