Weekly Report
Issued 21st June 2005

Water temperature reached 17C at 6ft on Monday 20th and clarity was 2.2m on the secchi disk. The lake has thankfully cooled a little since last week due to the inflow of fresher cooler water. 4 inches of rain fell in 7hrs on Sunday 19th and the feeder burns were in high spate and chocolate coloured. We can therefore expect a few days of reduced clarity until this influx settles. Prior to the floods, the Dog Isle and Gateside area had been fishing well and best tactics were near the top on diawl bach type flies. During the high water best catches were at the Portend Burn Mouth. The Rookery and Malling shore have been producing some of the bigger fish.. Worth while sticking it out on the evening sessions as the last half our can be the best.
