Weekly Report
Issued 4th July 2005

Weekly report for 4th July 2005 and June Summary

Average boat catch for June was 2.7 fish per boat for a total weight 5 ½ lbs. This was the lowest June catch in the last five years, although a range of 3.1 to 3.5 has been recorded. June can be difficult but this statistic was a bit surprising as more fish per boat hire were stocked this year and a far greater number of fish were released by anglers. Higher than usual June water temperatures, moderate clarity and good catches early on in the season will be part of the reason. The average number of fish caught per boat for the first 3 months is up from 3.74 fish per boat in 2004 to 4 fish per boat in 2005.
Best areas this week have been the Malling Shore, the Gap and around 150 yards of the Road Shore. Best tactics are floater or floater with short slow sink tip with dries and buzzers or blobs. Water temperature is 18c at 6ft and clarity 2.5m.
