WEEKLY FISHERY REPORT

Report for week ending 19th October 2004

Temperature at 6ft 10C; Clarity 1.8m.

As the temperatures plummeted mid week, top of the water sport seems a bit harder to come by but still possible, and most anglers are now using mainly an intermediate or slime line with mini lures/buzzers and boobies. Catches are holding up well and rod averages haven’t been up as high as this for some time.

Heriots FP AC were out on Saturday 16th October and boated 79 fish with an average weight of just under 2½ pounds. They released a total of 46 fish. Not bad going for 7 boats. Congratulations to 2004 club champion Stuart Barclay.

Congratulations also to Bill Farqhuar Phoenix AC club Champion and B.Donald SSEB Club Champion.

Sport this week has remained generally in the eastern basin but with the occasional good bag coming from the northern and western shores.

The final stocking for 2004 will take place this week and the season closes on the 31st October.

We still have a few boats left for the CHAS Charity Event on Friday 22nd October and there are excellent prizes of cash – donated by Kevin McCabe, and rods, reels and lines - donated by the Glasgow Angling Centre, and there are one or two boats available for the Kirk and School Fly Fishing Fundraiser after the end of the season on the 7th November.

All boat booking enquires to Elma Nesbit on 01877 385664.
