Report for week ending 17th August 2004
Temperature at 6ft 20C; Clarity 2.0m

The heavy rain reduced clarity to 1.5m during the week in Gateside Bay, before rising again to 2m. Water temperature at 6ft is high and this has made conditions a little tricky at times. At the start of the week the freshwater seemed to be allowing surface tactics with some great sport had, but at the time of writing, these same tactics are having mixed results, and anglers who are prepared to go a bit deeper and use lures, have been catching marginally more fish. Top areas were Kates Brae and Dog Isle at the start of the week, with sport moving to “out in the middle” and the western shore by the 17th.
