WEEKLY FISHERY REPORT |
||
| Week Ending 14th June Temperature at 6ft 16C; Clarity 3.2m. Some more good sport at the Lake this week with some of the best bags of the season coming in – when conditions permitted. On Wednesday evening the 33 anglers in the Glenkinchie League caught 119 fish for 339lbs. An average fish weight of 2lbs 10oz. Apparently the floating blob in the cages was doing the business at Gateside Bay and George MacKenzie had the heaviest bag on the night with an 8 bag limit of over 28lbs. 2nd on the night was Walter Archibald with 8 fish for 27lbs and 3rd was Jim Litster with 8 fish for 26lbs 2oz. This result puts Jim Litster narrowly ahead of Walter Archibald in the League Table. Jim McBride is in 3rd place despite having caught the same number of fish as the current leader.
Top 4 Individuals qualifying for the Champions Final were 1st A.McEwan (Rainbow Warriors), 2nd M.Low (Eaglesham AA), 3rd R.Smith (Kinross Ex Servicemen) 4th G.McGregor (Sunburst). G.MacGregor also had the heaviest fish for 8lbs 6oz. The winning club, winning individual and the captor of the heaviest fish all received bottles of Bowmore Single Malt. Alex McEwan got his 8 fish limit (the only limit bag on the night) fishing a slow glass line with a sedge (2 fish) on the bob, a cormorant in the middle (3 fish) and a black or white cat on the tail (3 fish). He was fishing a slow retrieve along the line of the buoys in Gateside Bay to the point of the Rookery. Prior to this match a meeting was held of all the participating captains to seek approval for a rule change. It was decided by these individuals in consultation with the clubs secretary that a weight cap of 4lbs for a fish should be imposed for this Scottish Interclubs Heat. The rules for the Daily Record Champion of Champions were not changed. SANA Open Heats – Monday 14th June Eve:
