Week Ending 11th October
The settled spell has allowed for some nymphing and dry
fly for a change. Fish are still mainly in the eastern basin.
2004 Daily Record Champion of Champions

Jim Litster of Kilmaurs Ayrshire was crowned the new Daily
Record Champion of Champions. In a nail biting finish between him and
his mate Jim Craword, Jim Litster scraped in 7oz ahead to grab the trophy,
£300 cheque and Rod (supplied by Angling Centre Stirling). The competition
was again fished to new rules. The first 4 fish were kept, thereafter
all fish were returned (unless bigger than 6lbs) and their weight estimated
at 2lbs.
Mr.Litster’s first 4 weighed 10lbs 12oz and he later returned 9
fish – giving him a total score of 13 fish for 28lbs 12oz. Jim Crawford’s
first 4 fish weighed 8lbs 5oz and J.C. returned 10 more, giving him a
total catch of 14 fish for 28lbs 5oz and a cheque for £200. The
winning technique was to use a single cat booby on DI3 line and he was
fishing between Hotel Bay and Shear Point. The two Jims seem to know what
they are doing at the Lake. They were winners of the SANA Open Pairs Champions
in August and Jim Litster was 2nd in the Glenkinchie League. In all the
26 boats landed 143 fish for 350lbs 6oz. 72 fish were returned.
On the club scene Falkirk Fly Dressers landed 24 fish
for 57lbs with 6 boats, Aberfoyle had 26 fish for 63lbs from 6 boats and
CSP landed 29 fish for 67lbs from 7 boats. Willie Leach won the Falkirk
and Municipal, and the club landed 69 fish for 157lbs with 12 boats.
The Childrens Hospice Association Scotland
has its fundraiser at the Lake on Friday 22nd October. We still have boats
to fill. Please phone Mrs Nisbet on 01877 385664 for details.
