FISHERY REPORT Report for week ending 4th May 2004 |

|
Report for week ending 11th May 2004 An atmospheric week with plenty of torrential rain and lightening - causing spates in the burns, and early finishes for many and angler. Anglers should leave the water if lightening is imminent. We had some big hatches of black buzzer, and mayfly have been evident since the 7th of May. Hotspots have been Lochend, Roadshore and the Heronry. It is nice to see sport extending to the further reaches. Successful tactics have varied from fast pulling (traditional or lures) on a wet cell 2 – often favoured as the fail safe bet by the competition anglers - to the tweaked buzzer or dry. Both styles have been the “most successful” on different days this week. This week saw the commencement of the Scottish National Fly Fishing Championships at the Lake (27 boats 213 trout for 404lbs) and the Scottish Interclub Championships on Saturday night (26 boats 113 trout for 255lbs). We also had the camera crews here to film the SANA heat and the Ladies National Team. Screening of Troutandabout will be some time in July. Further details will be posted when available.
