| Fishery Report:
13th May to 19th May 2003
Current water temperature at 6ft is an unseasonably cool 12C and has a
clarity of 1.5m (secchi disk). There are still vast quantities of midge,
olives and mayflies about but the high winds, rain and reduced water clarity
have meant that it is often the bigger brighter flies presented a few
feet down that get noticed. A variety of flies have been productive (damsel,
dancer, boobies, blobs, sparklers, viva and buzzers, small buzzers). Productive
areas this week have been Dog Isle, Heronry, Tod Hole, Lochend, Kate’s
Brae and Reedy Point. The extra warmth and lighter winds of recent days
should make for some pleasant fishing.
