Fishery Report: 7th
– 13th October.
The start of the week had a strong south/west wind and made the fishing
challenging, but the wind calmed down nicely for the weekend for some near
top of the water fishing. Water temperature is cooling down to 11 C at 6ft.and
clarity is holding at a steady 3.5m on the secchi disk. Anglers have been
using predominantly slow sinking lines. Areas that have been fishing well
are Lochend bay, Kate’s brae the road shore, The Heronry and Hotel
Bay. Fly’s that are doing well are the booby’s (black or white),
red headed cats/ red headed damsel, Kate McLaren, the cormorant, blobs and
sparklers.
