
The Scottish Club Championships takes place every Saturday night at the
Lake with around 250 teams competing from all over the country. Clubs
compete in Heats from May until August, and each club is entitled to enter
an A and B team. Three teams go through to the semifinals (weekdays in
September) and the best 15-18 teams then compete in the Final which is
held during October. A presentation dinner is held for all of the teams
competing.
The Daily Record Champion of Champions event also takes place in October.
This competion comprises the top four anglers from each of the 12 - 14
heats. A presentation dinner is held after the competition.
Weekly coverage of the competition is given in the Daily Record on Fridays
and this newspaper also pays for the Champion of Champions Final and dinner.
Bowmore donate prizes of whisky at each heat and the Angling Centre Stirling
donates prizes to the winners of the club champions. Results of heats/finals
etc can also be seen on this website under weekly reports.
The competitions are run by the Scottish Club Championship Committee
which is affiliated to SANA (Scottish Anglers National Association). The
Championship secretary is Kenny Millar, Dryflat Farm, Glenmavis, Coatbridge
