The 4 days in winter (2 lure only and 2 approved dead bait or lure) are administered by the PAAS (Pike Anglers Alliance Scotland) and the PAC (Pike Angling Club of Great Britain and Ireland). They occur on the first two Saturdays in autumn and the first two Saturdays in March. In 2008 we are planning to introduce some fly fishing for pike to the Lake. This is scheduled for the evenings of 12th and 13th May and will be run by the Pike Fly Fishing Association in conjunction with the Lake. We aim to encourage some of the trout regulars to try pike on the fly. The correct gear will be required. For more information contact the pffa chairman or the Lake managment/boat bookings. |
Lake Fisheries Pike Policy. No netting for pike has taken place at the Lake since the summer of 1998. The management endeavours to conserve in the Lake a body of large pike to control coarse fish numbers and to keep the trout population healthy. Past pike catch information available here. |
