The Lake of Menteith Fisheries Company logo

The Lake of Menteith Fisheries Ltd company was formed in 1968 by the riparian owners of the Lake. The objective was to preserve the peace and tranquility of the area, whilst at the same time providing local employment. The Lake at the time was increasingly becoming a venue for speed boats and water skiing. To enable the company to become effective managers of the Lake, The Lake of Menteith Fisheries Order Confirmation Act 1970 was passed. This stipulated control of fishing and any activities affecting the fishing.
